Iain Thomson has been promoted to the role of Financial Director at Ultraframe, after 4 years as Financial Controller at the market-leading conservatory roofing company. Iain replaces previous FD Daren Wallis, who has been promoted to the position of Investment Director of Latium Holdings.
As the industry experienced tough market conditions over recent years, Ultraframe recognised the need to re-focus on its strengths, providing customers with technically superior products backed by premium service. Iain has been instrumental in initiatives that have been pivotal in Ultraframe’s recovery, which include the delivery of improved service, significant cost reductions, effectively managing working capital/cash and developing strategies/buying synergy’s to ensure the business has a reasonable amount of predictability in its input costs.
Iain commented: “During 2006 Ultraframe went from public to private ownership and as a result, is now far more responsive. This has enabled us to re-establish our reputation as the leading conservatory roofing system brand. From this stable foundation I believe that Ultraframe is now in great shape to further build on this, by developing exciting new solutions that will create value for the business and its stakeholders. I intend to make a significant impact, providing financial leadership and commercial awareness. By focussing on cost reduction and cash generation we can ensure that the business is profitable, positioned to innovate and invest in growth, despite the challenging market conditions.”
Ultraframe celebrates 25 years’ trading in 2008 and continue to push the boundaries of conservatory design and technology, as well as planned ventures into new markets in the near future. Grahame Hall, CEO commented: “Following Daren’s promotion within the Latium Group, I am pleased to welcome Iain Thomson to the Board of Directors of Ultraframe (UK) Ltd. We have some very exciting plans for 2008 and strong financial leadership is key to our success in new markets.
