An Orangery Fit for Kings
The King family had a dated conservatory which was in need of a revamp and they also wanted to add extra space to allow them to enjoy open plan living. They were keen to add a large, contemporary glass roof to their extension and worked with their local Ultraframe installer, Niddal Windows and Conservatories, to design a showstopping orangery extension featuring the Ultraframe Classic Roof.
The extension is over 6.5m wide and features several sets of contemporary bi-fold doors in anthracite grey. To complete the modern look, a roof with streamlined good looks was needed, and the Classic Roof with its new slimline ridge was the perfect choice. The new slimline ridge is thermally broken, available in either PVC or aluminium externally, and can be specified on fixed 25° Georgians and double-ended 25° Georgians.
Commenting about the transformation from tired conservatory, to stunning contemporary orangery, homeowner Mr King said: “When we started to think about demolishing our existing conservatory and creating an open plan extension, we knew that the roof was key. The new slimline ridge was launched in January along with a number of other enhancements to Ultraframe’s Classic system, including a bi-fold support beam, super bolster, chambered box gutter and enhanced structural design guide. Unsurprisingly, the slimline ridge has proved extremely popular with Classic users since its launch, as it reinforces Classic’s status as the ideal roof for large span contemporary orangeries and extensions.
