If you ask a retail installer what they want from their fabricator or system supplier, one of the answers is always “more leads please”, and 2018 was no different.

In addition to ongoing investment in generating leads through our own consumer website, we also addressed the issue directly, by helping our customers generate more quality leads themselves.

Our lead generation course was attended by over 200 installers – helping to hone best practice and providing easy to apply tips for maximising online marketing.

We also ensured that our customers were best prepared to convert the leads they generate, by partnering with industry specialist, ICAAL, to offer fully bespoke websites. By taking advantage of this service, our installers can not only save much of the time, money and hassle that are often associated with such a project, but also ensure a high-ranking, SEO ready site that will perform as well as looking beautiful.

We have also created 12 virtual reality tours of various styles of conservatories and extensions which can be used, free of charge, by our customers on their own websites. We’ve invested heavily to produce the VR tours, but we’re confident that our customers will reap the rewards of this investment, as this type of feature makes a site more ‘sticky’ - leading to higher conversions. We are also developing a quote engine as the next web enhancement in our ongoing drive to help our customers win more business.

Looking ahead to 2019, we are all aware of other critical issues that are posing challenges to our industry.

As less young people come into our industry and as time-consuming extension projects become more popular, the fitters we do have are in ever-more short supply on-site. It is, therefore, crucial that their time is as productive as possible. Extension projects also demand more time from the wet trades, meaning they are in higher demand than ever, which can severely impact on project planning and build times.

We will be launching products during 2019 to tackle these issues and reduce the dependency on the wet trades - speeding up the extension build process and making it the realm of conservatory installers. These products go way beyond the usual label of ‘fitter-friendly’.
