Ultraframe has announced the launch of its new slimline roof vent. Not only does the new roof vent offer a striking contemporary look, the new design is also thermally broken and has been engineered for long-lasting performance.

Explaining more about the new vent, Ultraframe Design & Development Director, Andrew Thomson, said: “Many installers are reluctant to add roof vents into a conservatory, but as hotter weather continues in the UK, they are increasingly important and are one of the fastest ways of ventilating a conservatory during the warmest months of the year. Our new slimline vent fits perfectly with the new contemporary styles of conservatories that are becoming more and more prominent in the marketplace.”

Featuring a powder-coated aluminium sash as standard, along with the option of aluminium internal claddings on the Ultrasky roof and Ultrasky Lantern, the new vent is thermally broken to ensure optimum thermal performance and boasts a PVC welded frame to eliminate any chance of leaks. Weather baffles and a built-in internal drainage system also ensures maximum protection from the elements.

Explaining further about the new roof vent, Andrew continued: “By incorporating the best features of a rigid powder coated aluminium sash and a fully welded, chambered and thermally efficient PVC base, we’ve ensured that the new vent will provide protection against the elements. Its old counterpart comprised many parts which provided more opportunity for the vent to fail in terms of leaks and so when designing the new one; we’ve created a welded PVC frame to eliminate this issue. The new vent is also a dry product unlike the old one which relied on silicone for assembly, and could look unsightly if not applied perfectly.”

The high quality powder coated paint finish on the new roof vent is available in white as standard with any other RAL colour available on request. An optional electric motor sits unobtrusively within the vent rebate and can be controlled automatically or by remote control for multiple vent zoned applications. As with all Ultraframe products, fitter friendliness has been designed into the product and the new vent is simple to glaze with no beads, offering an attractive finish and higher security. Fully tested, the new roof vent is severe rated when tested to BS5368 Parts 1 & 2; BS6375 Part 1 2009.

The new roof vent is available from mid-July.
